2023
Dr. Ronald Hsu, Vancouver, Wash.: The Class of 2003 will be having a class reunion on Saturday, Sept. 9 at the UW. We will have brunch and then go to the UW vs. Tulsa football game. Dr. Timothy L. Gatten, Hayden, Idaho: My brother, Dr. Dustin Gatten, and I own two practices – one in North Spokane and one in Post Falls, Idaho. Together they are “Access Endodontic Specialists.” We added associate Dr. Dean Whiting in September after he graduated from the UW Graduate Endodontics program. (Spring 2016)
2011
Dr. Alex Kang, Everett, Wash.: Our son, Austin Sung Kang, was born on Aug. 6. He weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz., most importantly healthy as well as Mom. We feel so blessed and thrilled to have him in our lives – most amazing feeling I have ever felt! He is now just past 7 weeks old and has been putting on about a pound a week. It is a good thing he is a very good baby for us amateur parents. (Spring 2011)

Dr. Ronald Hsu, Vancouver, Wash.: I hope this note finds all my friends happy and content. Misty and I have been busy losing sleep and enjoying our new baby. Ching-Lien d’Nellie Hsu, our fourth child, arrived on July 21 at 8:21 p.m., weighing 7 pounds 11 ounces, measuring 20.5 inches long. Mom and child are both doing well. Please let us know if your plans bring you to the Portland-Vancouver area. We would be happy to host you, dine you (sorry, no wine), and enjoy a good visit. (Fall 2009)
Dr. Melanie (Bian) Lee, Portland, Ore.: I moved to Portland after graduation and have been practicing for Kaiser Permanente in Vancouver, Wash., since 2005. I truly enjoy the practice and fellow dentists. My husband, Dae, and I welcomed a beautiful baby boy named Christian in March 2009. We are enjoying this time immensely and look forward to introducing him to old classmates and fellow alumni! (Fall 2009)
Dr. Vanessa Wicklund West, Thousand Oaks, Calif.: Roger and I recently moved from Kona to Southern California. We opened up our dental practice, West Family Dentistry, in Thousand Oaks this May. It’s been a challenging, yet rewarding and exciting, experience. Aloha! (Fall 2009)
2008
Dr. Ronald H. Hsu: Misty and I returned to Vancouver, Wash., in July 2006. In addition to our two Tar Heel children, we now also have a Husky boy. Planning for our five-year reunion is in full swing. (Spring 2008)
