CLASS NOTES

2020

Dr. Jason Bourne, Marysville, Wash.: I’m going on my 17th year with my practice, my oldest is off to college, my middle child is a sophomore in high school, and my youngest is starting middle school. Hope everyone is happy to be seeing patients again, even with the new COVID procedures we’ve all had to implement! (Fall 2020)

The Bourne family enjoyed a getaway to Thailand during the winter holidays.

Samanatha Lee Chiu

Dr. Samantha Lee-Chiu, Bellevue, Wash.: Dr. Lee-Chiu began her new role as International Community Health Services interim chief dental officer on April 20. Dr. Lee-Chiu joined ICHS, a Seattle-based nonprofit health care provider, as the Bellevue Clinic assistant dental director in 2018. Prior to that, she was with Neighborcare Health for 14 years as a practitioner performing comprehensive dentistry, diagnosing, preventive, restorative, periodontics, endodontic, and prosthodontics. (Fall 2020)

2015

Dr. Michelle Caldier, Port Orchard, Wash.: (From the editor) Dr. Caldier, a Republican, was elected to the Washington state House of Representatives in November, beating four-term Democratic incumbent Larry Seaquist for the 26th District seat. (Spring 2015)

2010

Dr. Jason R. Bourne: I am still loving my orthodontic practice in Marysville and Lake Stevens. Danica and I have three kids now, so we are busy! I’d love to hear from classmates and get updates! (Spring 2010)

2009

Dr. Jason R. Bourne: I still have the ortho offices in Lake Stevens and Marysville. Danica and I now have three kids, two dogs, and not enough time! BTW – let’s start thinking about that 10-year reunion coming up in less than two years! Looking forward to it! (Fall 2009)

Dr. Kara Hobson, Vancouver, Wash.: I have been practicing orthodontics in Vancouver at Gentle Dental since May 2006. As a Portland-area native, I felt fortunate to give back to my community by creating beautiful smiles that last forever. After graduating from the dental school at the University of Washington in 2001, I moved to San Francisco to pursue an advanced education in General Dentistry at UCSF. I received an MS in Orthodontics at Oregon Health Sciences University in 2006. I am Board certified through the American Board of Orthodontists and am an active member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists. I enjoy traveling and the outdoors. I reside in both Portland and Hood River, Ore., and my out-of-the-office time is generally spent skiing, biking, golfing, or running. I recently ran the New York City Marathon. (Fall 2009)
