DR. DION D. CAMPISI, PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY CLASS OF 1969

Dr. Compisi

Dr. Dion Dominic Campisi passed away peacefully on Dec. 20, 2021 in San Jose, Calif., after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 80.

He was born on Aug. 8, 1941 in San Jose to Dr. Salvador and Genevieve Campisi. He grew up on The Alameda in San Jose, attended St. Leo the Great School, and later attended Bellarmine College Preparatory with his brothers, Richard and Jon. After studying at Santa Clara University for two years, he transferred to Creighton University, following in the footsteps of his father and older brother Richard. He attended dental school at Creighton and furthered his education at the UW School of Dentistry.

He was adored by his patients and the families he served for over 30 years. He was blessed to work alongside his older brother, who was an orthodontist. He met the love of his life, Linda Gray, while he was a young dentist and she was a dental assistant. They were married for 50 years and lived in San Jose’s Rose Garden neighborhood, less than a mile from his dental office.

Dr. Campisi and his brothers had a passion for commercial real estate investments, and enjoyed owning, developing, and managing their properties together. The Campisi Ranch in the Central Valley was an investment they put their hearts and souls into, as they loved spending time together with their families. They enjoyed partnering with the farmers and seeing their hard work go from “farm to table.” The ranch is thriving, and their children continue this legacy. Almonds, tree fruit, and a variety of row crop vegetables are grown, packed, and shipped locally and around the world.

Dr. Campisi was a proud member of the Downtown San Jose Rotary Club, where he enjoyed perfect attendance for 30 years, a Paul Harris Fellow, a member of the Santa Clara County Dental Society and a 1981 Bronco Bench Member, The Amici d’Oro and Sons of Sicily. An avid supporter of Bellarmine and Santa Clara University athletics, he was often found in the stands cheering on his teams.

In his later years he enjoyed walking the neighborhood multiple times per day with his dog and best friend, Dino.

Dr. Campisi is survived by his wife, Linda; children Jennifer and Dion; grandchildren Olivia Sabatino and Murphy Sabatino IV; twin brother, Jon Sr.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary, and brother Richard. (Legacy.com)
